In 2011, I founded a parody newspaper for parents called The Upper West Side Parenteer (later shortened to simply The Parenteer). I wrote (using fake names), and designed sixteen monthly 12-page issues. 80,000 copies, per issue, were printed and distributed in Upper Manhattan. Eventually, I ceased the physical printing and distributing of the paper and now continue to publish online, at theparenteer.com. The Parenteer quickly developed a cult following and was given exposure via a full page article in the mother’s day (Sunday), edition of The New York Post, as well as being featured on the TODAY show’s website, DNAinfo.com, babycenter.com, The Huffington Post, and many others. It’s currently in the development phase for a scripted half-hour show.
